Pori's Isomäki fitness track lighting project - A new lighting solution tailored to nature and users

The city of Pori upgraded the lighting of the Isomäki fitness track to be modern and environmentally friendly by choosing Greenled's luminaires for the implementation. With the lifecycle of the old mercury lighting coming to an end, the goal was to design new lighting in accordance with the principles of Pori's forest program, emphasizing the area's biodiversity and user comfort throughout the different seasons. The collaboration project included Jari Lehesvuori from the city of Pori, Janne Pihlava from Elvera Oy, and Tero Koivula from Nodeon Finland Oy. Greenled supplied the luminaires for the project, while Ledil was responsible for the Amber lenses in the luminaires.

The Isomäki fitness track is located in a national park area. The lighting design had to particularly consider biodiversity and the values of the circular economy. The city chose Greenled's ecologically manufactured Vega S luminaires. These luminaires are made from 100% recycled aluminum, which also helped reduce the carbon footprint. Ledil's developed Amber lenses were selected for the luminaires.

Thanks to the Amber lenses and optimized optics, the distance between poles could be increased cost-effectively while maintaining a uniform lighting area. This not only saves energy costs but also reduces the number of lighting poles, allowing the solution to blend better with the natural contours of the area. Additionally, using the same type of luminaire in different areas, such as path lighting and other area lighting, simplifies maintenance and unifies the appearance.
