Greenled is committed to sustainability in all its activities. We offer environmentally friendly lighting solutions that reduce your carbon footprint and increase your well-being. Our aim is to always be the most responsible choice for our customers.
Find out how our concrete actions are building a brighter future.
Goal: Everything we do has a positive impact. Sustainability is more than a goal or a startegia. It guides every decision we make in our daily lives. We are committed to minimising our carbon footprint. However, the carbon handprint of the services we provide has an even greater impact.
We always want to be the most responsible option available for our customers. The majority of our products have a very low carbon footprint thanks to recycled aluminium, and we are leading the entire lighting industry into a new era of serviceable LED lighting with Origi.
For Greenled, sustainability is one of our three values. It guides everything we do and everything we decide. Nature and its protection have also been of utmost importance to us since our foundation.
"For us, sustainability is about promises and actions today, not about goals or visions of what we want to do at some point in the future."
The vast majority of the products we sell are Key Flag products made in Finland.
For 15 years, we have been at the forefront of responsible lighting, and we are just getting started.
Greenled's sustainability strategy takes into account the environmental, social and governance dimensions. Our strategy is built around three main elements, which we are determined to take forward in our operations.
We implement environmentally friendly, long-life cycle products and services.
Minimising the lifecycle carbon footprint of products and services
In lighting, we typically talk about the carbon footprint during the manufacturing of a luminaire. To achieve our goal, we measure the lifecycle carbon footprint of products and services. In all our projects, we calculate and communicate the energy savings achieved by the customer. See our references
Development of life cycle services
We are responsible for our clients' lighting as a total service. When we provide lighting as a service, we are responsible for the functionality and carbon footprint of the lighting solution. This enables us to ensure that each solution is fit for purpose, that our products use as little energy as possible, that they maintain their light output for as long as possible and that they are serviceable where possible. In this way, we can ensure that the carbon footprint of our solutions is as small as possible throughout their life cycle. Read more about our complete solutions
We create security and prosperity.
Continuously improving safety and well-being at work
We actively monitor safety and sickness absence indicators and respond to all near misses to prevent accidents at work. We carry out regular job satisfaction surveys for our staff. In 2022, 84% of our staff responded to the survey. Job satisfaction surveys are one of the most important highlights of the year for us, and we use them to improve our management and our practices. Understanding the impact of light
We want to raise awareness of the link between light and well-being. This is reflected in our customer interactions, marketing and internal communications. We have implemented human-centred lighting solutions in our own production facilities and those of our customers, which support the natural circadian rhythm and thus improve wellbeing, alertness and the overall wellbeing of our staff. Increasing community and openness in the workplace through teamwork
We strongly believe that the wellbeing of our work community is enhanced through a sense of community and openness. All our offices are designed to encourage teamwork and effectively facilitate both physical and remote encounters. We aim to improve staff wellbeing and motivation, for example through activity challenges. Read more about what it's like to work at Greenled
We are increasing awareness and transparency in our activities.
Governance structures and policies
Good governance is the foundation of true accountability. We actin accordance withour Code of Ethics, laws and regulations and treat each other fairly and equitably. We have a quality management and environmental system certified by SGS Finland, which covers our management and governance practices.
To increase awareness and transparency for our customers and staff, we produce an annual sustainability report, in which we compile our most relevant sustainability indicators to be monitored.
Building a responsible supply chain together with our partners
A responsible supply chain requires increased awareness and transparency among our partners. We ensure that our partners are committed to our ethical guidelines and aware of our sustainability strategy, and we require our partners to integrate sustainability considerations into their operations.
For us, responsibility is much more than targets or promises - for us, responsibility is concrete actions. Check out Greenled's latest Sustainability Report, a one-page guide to how we are creating more sustainable lighting solutions for the environment and people. We produce the Sustainability Report every year.
We recognise the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have identified five SDGs that we can most influence through our actions:
We have an ISO 9001 quality management system certified by SGS Finland and an ISO 14001 environmental management system for our entire operation. This ensures a high quality and efficient overall delivery.
Domestic manufacturing is a matter of honour for us. In 2023, 84% of all the luminaires we sold were key flag products.
